Lessons

Heel prettig met Elisa, helder in haar uitleg en ondersteunend.

Elisa is an enthusiastic and inspiring person and teacher. Clearly experienced as teacher, she motivates me, gives clear instructions and practical tips to improve my clarinet playing. I always leave the lessons feeling cheerful and looking forward to the next one.

I am a highly experienced and passionate clarinet teacher, with over ten years of teaching experience across all levels and ages – from 5 to 82 years old!

I am proudly happy to say that I have introduced many young children to the clarinet world, helping to nurture their passion for the instrument and watching them grow into skilled players. Several of my (former) students have even gone on to successfully prepare for and pass auditions for Conservatory.

I believe that every student has unique needs and goals when it comes to learning the instrument. That’s why I offer completely personalized lessons that are tailored to your level, goals, and schedule. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced player, we’ll work together to determine the best approach for your musical journey.

You can choose between online or in-person lessons, with a duration ranging from 30 to 90 minutes, depending on your availability and preferences.

With fun exercises and easy songs you’ll be able to master the basics of clarinet playing in no time! You’ll learn to read sheet music and basic music theory.

Clarinet classes to intermediate and advanced students will focus on more specific clarinet technique, breathing, interpretation, embouchure, sound and of course our beautiful repertoire.

Playing clarinet in a chamber music or group setting is an amazing way to enhance your skills and deepen your love of music. In addition to one-on-one lessons, I also offer chamber music and group lessons that focus specifically on clarinet playing.

In these sessions, you’ll have the opportunity to play with other clarinetists, develop your ensemble skills, and learn how to listen and respond to others in a musical conversation.

Playing clarinet in a group also provides a sense of community and support, as you learn and grow together with other clarinetists!

Since December 2023, I’ve (re)started organizing our annual Christmas recital with my students here in the Netherlands. I strongly believe in the importance of providing early performance opportunities to make sharing music a positive experience rather than an intimidating one. Witnessing the growth and confidence of my students as they perform brings me great satisfaction!!

Please note that during our lessons, my feline assistant Samu will be present to supervise your progress. He’s a discerning judge, but don’t worry, he won’t be too harsh on you. Just make sure you’re playing your best, or you might receive a disapproving meow (or two).
